In South Korea, soccer is immensely popular, with star players like 손흥민 Son Heung-min, 이강인 Lee Kang-in, and 김민재 Kim Min-jae elevating the national team's profile.

Many Koreans gather to watch and cheer for their teams on match days, especially during significant games.

A cultural staple of these viewings is the pairing of fried chicken and beer, fondly referred to as "치맥 chimaek" (chicken and maekju, the Korean word for beer).

For big matches, it's customary to order these well in advance, sometimes hours before the game, to ensure timely delivery for the kickoff. This ritual is part of the shared social experience of enjoying soccer in Korea.

In South Korea, baseball games are not just about the sport but also the vibrant atmosphere in the stadiums.

Cheerleading in Korean baseball involves coordinated dances, singing, and audience participation, making it an interactive experience.

The cheerleaders are integral to the game-day experience and contribute significantly to KBO League games' lively and communal atmosphere.

Baseball games in South Korea offer a unique and immersive cultural experience, particularly regarding food. Unlike the typical 핫도그 hot dogs and peanuts in American stadiums, Korean baseball fans enjoy snacks and meals right in their seats.

You can find everything from fried chicken and pizza to traditional Korean favorites like 김밥 kimbap (seaweed rice rolls) and 떡볶이 tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes).

There's also a culture of ordering food delivery directly to the stadium, so don't be surprised to see delivery scooters driving up to the stands to deliver a fresh meal right in the middle of a game. This melding of food culture with sports adds to the communal and festive atmosphere of Korean baseball games.

South Korea's capital region is surrounded by numerous mountains, such as Bukhansan and Dobongsan, which are popular among locals and tourists for hiking.

The well-maintained trails often lead to temples, offering a blend of nature and culture. After the hike, visiting local restaurants at the mountain base is customary for a meal and drinks, typically Korean BBQ or 막걸리 makgeolli, a traditional rice wine. This love for hiking reflects Koreans' deep appreciation for nature and desire to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
